Raise your voice, get out of your bubble
We have never been afraid to speak out specifically in the face of the systematic repression that is taking place in Colombia. This problem not only affects us as natural citizens but also as entrepreneurs who own micro-businesses in a country where there are no guarantees or many financing options.
Our voice has always called for support for students, protest and the right to life above all else. Something that is not respected anywhere in Colombia, especially in rural areas with a high paramilitary presence.
As a brand, we condemn all these events and denounce all manifestations of police abuse and attacks against peaceful protesters.
Nowadays it is very easy for protests to disappear like smoke when we are saturated with so much content on social networks. Many show their support only to be part of a trend and we appreciate the noise, but here at Cloud we are more about doing than saying.
In the month of May, in the context of the national strike, we wanted to show our support by leading another campaign of One garment, one cause to financially help an organization that was on the front line of Colombia, but above all, it will help stop the defamation of fake news since our media channels are not trustworthy.
We wanted to find an organization that would invest resources and time in informative pieces with real data on the crisis that is happening in the country.
After doing our research, we quickly realized that the organization we should partner with was the NGO Temblores. A social movement that shakes tectonic plates, that causes tremors, that generates small local revolutions and that allows us to build firm pillars to fight against violence.
Along with temblores, we launched a white hoodie with a front print that reads “RAISE YOUR VOICE” and a long-sleeved sweatshirt with “GET OUT OF YOUR BUBBLE.” We launched both products with a lower quality and price than what we usually handle, but with the goal of bringing in more donors at a lower price and being able to have a greater reach.
This initiative allowed us to raise more than 2 million pesos that were donated directly to Temblores NGO and with which we helped finance human rights teams in the protests and medical care for children on the front line.
This project, in addition to financially helping Temblores, allowed us to bring to light our message of empathy with the situation and a cry to those of us who live comfortably in the main cities of Colombia so that we get more involved in the situation and feel the pain of those who do not have a voice to be heard.
Follow Temblores on Instagram and learn what they are doing to denounce acts of terrorism and police abuse by government organizations.
