People say we are a clothing brand, but it has always been about anything but a piece of clothing. We are nothing more than a management, a group of people with a common way of thinking, promoters of creative collectivity and independence.
We believe that we must always give back to the community to keep a cycle of positivity turning and for this we created our program ONE GARMENT, ONE CAUSE AND YOU SET THE PRICE .
The dynamic is simple; we choose a cause, foundation or simply someone who is doing good. Usually they are conservation groups and environmental leaders, we co-design with them a garment with an exclusive design that will never be re-released and you decide how much to pay for that garment. The money raised is then donated to a specific cause, we travel as a brand to the scene of the events and verify that the money reaches the right people and fulfills its purpose.
This time we start the year with this collaboration; a T-shirt with our friends from Mundo Verde in Rincon del Mar, Sucre department , a region that was abandoned by the state more than 30 years ago. It does not receive resources for education, drinking water, road infrastructure or waste treatment, and this last is a huge problem for the region, since it contaminates one of the most important mangroves in the entire country, where thousands of birds, fish, turtles, sloths and iguanas reproduce.
When the mangroves are polluted, small fish die, large fish have nothing to eat, the chain breaks and the people of Rincomar are the ones who end up paying the price for a tourism culture that does not respect the environment.
Fortunately, for every misfortune, there are people who balance the scales and that is where the guys from Mundo Verde come in; a group of young environmentalists from the region who by hand and by canoe collected more than 72 tons of garbage from the bottom of the mangrove swamp in 7 years.
With few resources and no recognition, they manage their own environmental brigades, promote recycling, educate the new generations and spread the word about the importance of being part of the natural cycle, but never intervening in it. Since the state does not even invest time to sit down and talk with the leaders of the region, we need to think of immediate solutions since in times of drought, the mud at the bottom of the mangroves heats up and many fish die due to the change in water temperature.
This would be easily solved by bringing water from the sea to the mangrove swamp using a 6-volt motor pump that costs between 3 and 4 million pesos.
Money that we managed to raise only by operating with a platform set up for a mission bigger than ourselves.
With the help and support of dozens of collaborators, we managed to raise more than 4 million pesos that allowed us to finance the motor pump and hydraulic hoses.
See how the kids from Mundo Verde reacted when they received the motor pump, learn more about what happened and share these stories so they can see that it is possible to make a difference with what we have around us.
